Preschool

Here are a few pics from Lily's Thanksgiving Feast at preschool. She was so excited that her brother and sister were there with her to celebrate. She has been so many times to their events now it was her time.

The Girls......and Daddy

While Nick was at Disneyland for a friend's birthday, we took the girls out for a day of fun. Of course this consisted of a train ride, the merry-go-round, lunch and creating your own cupcake.

Lily's creation

Cassie's creation Hello Kitty with a body. She of course had to add that detail.

To Go!

The pictures speak for themselves. Must I say more!!!!

Lets Dance

Is someone trying to give us the hint that she wants to start dance?

Well we know now that she is coordinated.

A Fall Bike Ride

Even though I am still waiting for a brisk Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving season, it was nice to grab the kids for a bike ride along the beach. Lily is a little devil on the bike. I think at 3 she would do fine without training wheels, but for my sanity they are staying on.

Fairy Flower Girl

Thank heaven for little girls. Moments like these put a huge smile on my face. I never know what the girls are going to look like each day until they emerge from their room.  By the end of the day I have mountains of dress-up clothes, hair accessories, jewelry, wands and a little of this and that thrown in. But in the end it is all worth it.

Little Miss Student of the Month

A week ago Pat and I received a letter from Cassie's teacher informing us that she was being chosen as October's Student of the Month. Of course it was to remain a secret, so that during the school assembly she would be surprised. Last Friday we attended the assembly as very proud parents. They hand out 9 of these awards per class, per year, and they have different categories from which the teachers can choose from. Cassie received hers for Academic Achievement in all fields. She was so cute and excited during the assembly when her teacher told her that she was chosen. Nick also received the Student of the Month award when he was in first grade so poor Lily has some big shoes to fill.

Fall Ball

Baseball, baseball, and more baseball. As if Spring ball did not absorb our lives, Nick wanted to play fall ball. So far, his team, the Pirates, are undefeated. They play the No. 2 team (who had a weaker schedule) this Sunday. After that, they have one more team to play. If they win on Sunday they are the champs. Nick's hopes are so high because he wants his first competitive trophy. This team is the best he has been on. The kids play a solid game and work together so perfectly. I not only credit the boys but the coach. His coaching, practices, and fundamental training of the game is the best we've seen. He is all about helping the boys learn all positions and play as a team more than being worried about winning. I guess that is a winning strategy because they are undefeated. I think it also helps that he works for the Los Angeles Angels (of Anaheim) franchise. Here are some pics (which I just love) that I took at the last game.
Waiting for the pitcher to get ready.
Getting his lead off

Off to third base.

Nick made some awesome plays in the outfield to get 2 runners out.

Do you think he sees me? And I was using my zoom lens.

Concentration

I can't believe he is almost as tall as me at 8.
